Customs Services - Temporary Importation of Goods:
Goods can be temporarily brought into the EU from third countries for up to 24 months. The importation of goods under this provision is justified when goods arriving from third countries are subject to re-exportation later. During importation, customs and value-added tax (VAT) remain unpaid, and the goods stay under customs supervision.
Such temporary importation is applied, among others, for specific work tools, exhibition exhibits, trade fairs, educational materials, surgical and laboratory equipment, and tools used for the elimination of major disaster consequences.
